Nivrutti's research at the University of Arizona focuses on studying the anammox bacteria for their application in wastewater treatment as well as studying novel biotransformation reactions in anammox cultures. Nivrutti completed his Bachelor's from the University of Pune (India), prior to joining the University of Arizona for his masters and doctoral studies. In his free time Nivrutti enjoys swimming, hiking, listening to/playing Indian classical music.
